The resort of Amarilla Golf & Country club can be best described as a 'peaceful little England '. It is situated on the South coast of the island, between Los Abrigos and Las Galletas and is just a 10 minute drive from the airport and 15 minutes from the popular tourist resorts of Las Americas & Los Cristianos. As the name suggests the resort is built around an 18 hole golf course and is therefore an oasis of flora and fauna. There are several bars and restaurants (one Chinese) supplying anything from a quick drink to takeaway meals to a full sit down A La Carte meal. Some also provide nightly cabaret, bingo and quizzes. There is also a very good supermarket, which stocks a large range of English products and is open 7 days a week. There is a launderette on site, a video club (open to non-residents and residents alike), a duty free shop, a hairdressers and an office where you can book excursions from Dolphin Trips to Medieval nights. There are 5 different swimming pools dotted around the complex, some of which have their own pool bars. The neighbouring resort of Golf del Sur is a short walk away and offers a great variety of shops and bars.
